Aussie BotanicaEncyclopedia & Care

Affiliate Disclosure

Transparency & Support Guidelines

We believe in 100% transparency with our readers. In compliance with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) guidelines and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules, we are disclosing how Aussie Botanica is funded.

What is an Affiliate Link?

On our plant profile pages, you will see a section titled "Local Availability". This block displays estimated prices and buttons like "Check Stock" linking to leading Australian nursery retailers, including:

  • Bunnings Warehouse
  • Flower Power
  • Other specialist retail nurseries

Many of these links are affiliate referral links. If you click on one of these buttons, are redirected to the merchant's website, and buy something (such as a plant, potting mix, or garden tool) within a specified tracking window, Aussie Botanica earns a small referral commission from the retailer.

Crucially, this referral program costs you absolutely nothing extra. The retail prices, deals, and availabilities are identical whether you visit their site directly or click through from our catalog.

Why We Use Affiliate Links

Operating and keeping Aussie Botanica requires resources. We pay for cloud hosting, domain registrations, search console optimization, and custom multi-agent asset generations (such as our high-fidelity watercolor/ink botanical illustrations and photorealistic environment settings).

Affiliate commissions allow us to support the project, continually refine our 10-field localized botanical blueprints, and add new plants to the encyclopedia over time without locking the content behind paywalls or subscription models.

Editorial Independence

Our care recommendations, suitability scoring, toxicity watches, and climate guides are written with absolute independence. We review plants based on botanical science, horticultural experience, and compatibility with Australian conditions.

A nursery partner has never dictated or influenced our care recommendations. If a plant is toxic to pets, difficult to maintain, or unsuitable for direct sun, we mark it as such (regardless of commissions).
